This video follows Expat Natt and Miu on a relaxing weekend trip to Suzhou, a city located just an hour from Shanghai. Described as "Heaven on Earth" by Marco Polo, Suzhou is a popular day trip destination known for its canals and traditional architecture.
The journey begins with a drive through Shanghai's Qingpu district, stopping at the scenic Daguanyuan garden park to test their new drone. They then check into their hotel in Suzhou, which upgrades their room to one with a bigger bed and a great view.
Their exploration of Suzhou starts with a walk through Shantang Street, the ancient streets of the city, and a visit to a famous noodle restaurant where crabs are shelled fresh. They sample local snacks like Bing Tang Hulu and fried twisted dough.
Next, they attempt to visit Tiger Hill, a park with a stunning temple, but arrive just before closing time. They later explore Pingjiang Road, searching for a special lamb dish and skewers. The beauty of the small streets is even more enchanting in the evening, with many people dressed in traditional clothing.
Their evening plans for cocktails are thwarted by unexpected rain, leading them to a quiet bar where they relax and reflect on their trip. The next day, they enjoy brunch at Cafe Mery, opting for less traditional foods as part of a mindful approach to their diet.
The video ends with a humorous anecdote about a heron that flies away just as Expat Natt tries to film it, showcasing the unexpected moments of their journey. The overall experience is one of relaxation, exploration, and appreciation for the unique beauty and culture of Suzhou.
Expat Natt and Miu embarked on a delightful weekend getaway to Suzhou, a city Marco Polo famously called "Heaven on Earth." Their adventure included exploring the enchanting canals, reminiscent of Venice, indulging in local delicacies like crab noodles and Bing Tang Hulu, and experiencing the charm of the ancient streets. Despite a slightly foggy day, they captured stunning drone footage and enjoyed a relaxing brunch in a tranquil cafe. The trip showcased Suzhou's beauty and the couple's unique travel experiences.
