Luke Hyde begins his Mount Huangshan adventure in the town of Tangkou (Tango Zen), staying at a hotel with a stunning view of the mountain. At 6:30 AM, he heads to the South Gate entrance and buys his ticket after a brief confusion. He chooses the Yungu trail (since the Yuping trail is closed) for a 1.5-hour hike up to the cable car station. 2:04 Arrive early (6:30 AM) to avoid crowds. Choose between cable cars (Yungu or Yuping) or hiking trails (Yungu or Yuping) for ascent.
5:51 At the Yungu entrance, decide whether to take the cableway or walk up. The walkway is well-built but steep with many steps.
15:18 Use a physical map or guide to navigate the peaks. Follow the route from White Goose Ridge to Black Tiger Pine and then to Begin to Believe Peak.
23:32 Wear shoes with good grip (not runners) as the trails can be slippery, especially in crowded or steep sections.
34:46 The Welcoming Pine near Yuping Peak is a must-see landmark. Expect crowds, but the view is worth it. The Yuping cable car costs 90 RMB one way.

I took the Yungu trail because the Yuping trail was closed that day. It took about 1.5 hours to hike from the south gate to the cable car station.
What was the best view you saw?
The view from the Begin to Believe Peak (convincing peak) was simply incredible, with stunning granite peaks and blue mountains in the distance.
