The journey begins with Nahana's arrival in Hong Kong, highlighting the city's reputation as one of the world's most expensive places to live. She checks into a budget hotel, initially drawn to its low price, but is immediately met with shocking conditions. The room, described as "coffin-sized," is cramped, unclean, and shows clear signs of disrepair.
